SKE Championship 19 Nov 2011

Photo session

Saturday, 19th November was a great day for me. I had reluctantly agreed to go to karate competition and this was the day. We got ready hurriedly and reached the venue in time. Before the start of the competition was a photo session. We all stood in line for the spectators to take our photographs.
The whole hall was divided into three areas each for different categories. We were explained about the rules and which area to go. Ours was the first event in area 1. It was children's kata for white to red belt below 10 years. I did not do it through the levels. I was bit sad about that. But mum said I did well except that I was too slow.

After sometime, we were called again to area 2. This time it was @children's 3 step kumite for white to red belt under 5' "

The finals

I was the first one to be called. I won the round. I was called another 3 times and I won all the rounds. I had got an entry into the finals. I had won a prize but I had to compete again in the finals to decide whether I won Gold or Silver. I was so excited. But it was a long wait for the finals. There were so many other events that we had to wait till almost 6pm for the finals to start. I was a little nervous. This time there were five judges. My opponent was Yohan Lewis. He won this round and I was declared as the second winner. Thus I got the silver medal. I am so proud of it.

School Activities

24 March 2010 - Our school annual day and our graduation day from Montessori to Primary. I received the "Scientific Inclination Award." There are around 12 annual awards in different categories for mont, primary and high school. I received this award for mont section. It was indeed a proud moment to see my name on the board under "Shining stars" section.

15 November 2010 - When I got Green Belt. With my teacher who trained me and made me able, our sensei and karate teacher of another class.

Art And Craft

I like drawing and making best out of waste. Here are some of them...

I made this drawing on 15 August 2007 for my 3rd birthday. We pasted this on the door to welcome my friends for the birthday party.


I make birthday cards for my friends birthdays.This was made for one of my best friend Aayudh's birthday in 2008.

During school holidays, my maama's daughter came over to stay with us for the first time. We played and fought together. We enjoyed each others company a lot. Mom used to give us colors, papers and other art materials and we would figure out what to do with them and use our imagination to make some art. Like we both are doing some drawing. When we were given some colored papers cut into different shapes, I made a scenery out of it.

I made this for Independence Day in August 2009 to send to my dear friend in Bengaluru.

17 July 2010. An apple a day keeps the doctor away. But this apple can't be eaten. It is made of string. I learned this from TV shows which make big picture/ art attack with everyday things.

This butterfly was made with waste cardboard box cover. I gave it as a birthday present to my favorite teacher...my Shibani miss.

We had greeting competition in school. We had to make and send them to be published on the school site. These are the drawings I made for the competition.

23 Oct 2010. We had cut out this Om from some old wedding invitation. It was in 3 pieces. Mom had asked me to paste it somewhere and make a beautiful piece of art. But later we both forgot about it. One day while taking out something I found it in my book. I kept the two pieces on sofa and they fitted perfectly. Now how do I put the third piece?? I cannot paste it on the sofa. (If I do I know the consequence!!!) So I took the nearby scissors, tied its handle to a hanky and inserted it behind the sofa pillow. Then I used this as my hanging stand to keep the third piece in place!

Santa claus

 I made this puppet show during Christmas of 2011. I had newly joined school here in England and just after joining it was Christmas vacation time. Since we had done so many art works related to the festival, I was totally in Christmas mood. We had done Santa and some fairies puppets. At home I found a box. I asked mum to cut out the front part. Then I pasted blue(my favorite color) paper all over. I have also done some drawing inside!!! Mum helped me tie up the strings to the puppet. Then I made up a story and  practiced moving the puppets. My teacher was very impressed to see my puppet show. That made me very happy and proud.
